Head of Marketing

About The Position

Base (formerly Crowdvocate) is a Customer Lifecycle Marketing platform, building the Customer-led Growth (CLG) category and ecosystem. Through journey tracking, automation, insights, and predictions our Customer Marketing platform helps companies refocus their efforts on their customer-base, and attribute growth to customer activations. Armed with the tools and knowledge to achieve a well-engaged customer base, at scale, some of the world’s best marketing teams are already using Base to go from impacting demand to impacting Growth.

Base is looking for a results-oriented and strategic Head of Marketing who can build, own, and drive strategy, positioning, market influence, and pipeline. You’ll work with cross-functional leaders in our global team to align our Go to Market strategy, while managing a team of Marketing professionals. Reporting to the CEO and Founder, as part of the company’s Senior management, you’ll have a major impact on leading Base to category creation and domination.

Responsibilities

  • Increase brand awareness through thought leadership and development and implementation of a cohesive marketing plan.
  • Establish an exemplary Customer Marketing function.
  • Create a holistic marketing strategy and execution plan.
  • Monitor, scrutinize, and improve marketing campaigns as needed.
  • Oversee and set goals for internal teams, both long and short term.
  • Work cross functionally with all departments, especially Product, Sales and Community.
  • Use creative PR strategies to build relationships with stakeholders and media.
  • Conceptualize, guide, and support marketing events.
  • Lead product messaging and supporting product collaterals.
  • Align with Sales on demand generation metrics and flow, attribute and optimize. 
  • Support internal teams with marketing collateral including employee branding. 
  • Provide the CEO with marketing metrics.
  • Support go-to-market strategy, vision messaging and differentiation activities. 
  • Grow and mentor a team of passionate and professional marketers. 
  • Support our CMO Advisory Board and thought leadership activities.

Requirements

  • Proven work in a senior role such as Marketing Director or Head of Marketing.
  • Specific experience in building and leading a marketing strategy in SaaS start-ups. 
  • Ability to think strategically but not opposed to being hands-on (we are a startup!).
  • Experience in the design and implementation of successful marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Experienced in thought leadership activities and participating in speaking engagements.
  • Great decision-making skills and the ability to make difficult decisions.
  • Proven track record as a Senior Manager of a global, cross- cultural team. 
  • Advanced degree in relevant fields such as Marketing or Communications.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Hubspot, Google AdWords, SEO, and web analytics are an advantage.
